Education

While the Charlotte Zoological Park will be a major entertainment attraction for residents and tourists, it will also be a state-of-the-art educational facility. We plan to focus on the areas of conservation, biodiversity, and the relationship between humans the rest of the animal kingdom. And because we are starting from the ground up, we have a tremendous opportunity to create educational facilities and programs that are focused on the critical issues of today and tomorrow.

We hope to create a living, dynamic and functional learning hub that will benefit everyone in the community. It will offer educational opportunities for adult amateurs and professionals, as well as for area students. In fact, the Park will provide everything from Field Trip Programs to Curriculum Enhancements intended to make learning more tangible and rewarding for both students and teachers. We are even proposing to offer a Mobile Classroom that can bring the Zoo to your school!

We would love to hear suggestions from local educators, so we can best serve you and your students.

Conservation

So many people are passionate about protecting the environment, including endangered species and habitats. Yet they simply don’t know how to participate in these global issues. Charlotte Zoological Park is where people can put their passion and energy to work. Our plan is to educate as many people as we can in the Charlotte area. And then we will suggest ways for individuals, families, schools and other groups to make a positive impact on conservation efforts around the world.

Additionally, our plan is to focus on helping other countries devise ways for humans to coexist with wild animals, preserving habitats while developing local economies.
